Old Timey Crimey #11: Hans Schmidt

May 31, 2019

This week, Kristy and Scott look at the case of Hans Schmidt, the ol' Severin' Reverend. Join us as we examine the life and dastardly deeds of one not-so-holy man, his goose heads (not the beer), and why Mattel will never sponsor us. Plus, a listener poem!

Tell us what you think of Hans and his companions, Mr. Squeaker and Mr. Quackers, in a 5-star review on iTunes. Don't forget to follow us here on Podbean, and hit us up on our FB group or Twitter.

Old Timey Crimey #10: The Boy in the Box

Old Timey Crimey #10: The Boy in the Box

May 24, 2019

We don't know his name, but his legacy has endured for decades. This week, Scott and Kristy look at the tragic case of the boy in the box, also known as America's Unknown Child. Along the way, we'll talk about our feelings regarding psychics, Honore de Balzac, and the father of criminology, Eugene Vidocq--a character you're sure to see in later episodes.

Also, Kristy gets douchey with French pronunciation, and if you have feelings about that, tell us in a 5-star review on iTunes. Don't forget to rate and review on  follow us here on Podbean, and hit us up on our FB group or Twitter.

Old Timey Crimey #9: Edith Thompson, Freddy Bywaters, and a Murderous Affair

May 17, 2019

It's time for 50 Shades of Murder! This week, Scott and Kristy hop back to England for a purported new age muddled with the scandals of old. Join us for the steamy affair between Edith Thompson and her young lover, Freddy Bywaters--and the tragedy that resulted. He's her toyboy, and the society women of England are drooling all over him even as he stands trial.

Old Timey Crimey #8: The Disappearance of Benjamin Bathurst

Old Timey Crimey #8: The Disappearance of Benjamin Bathurst

May 10, 2019

Kristy and Scott go on a mysterious journey with a young English diplomat traveling incognito (badly) through Europe in the age of Napoleon. The disappearance of Benjamin Bathurst, which has inspired science fiction writers for decades, introduces us to such wonderful characters as Guido Starhemburg, the Black Legion of Vengeance, and the Rescuer of Marbles. Was it bandits? Aliens? THE FRENCH? We'll likely never know.

Join us, and remember...he's British.

Old Timey Crimey #7: Texarkana Moonlight Murders Part 2

We heading back to Texarkana again, this time to talk about the wide array of suspects police picked as the Phantom Killer or who, oddly enough, pointed the finger at themselves. We'll also dig into how the murders affected the town--hysteria! buying all the locks! shooting people in the foot!--and Scott makes up a lovely folk song.
