Old Timey Crimey #18: Sawney Bean - "It's never over."
Friday Jul 19, 2019
Friday Jul 19, 2019
It's cannibalism time...again. This week, Kristy and Scott take a look at Scotland's infamous Sawney Bean clan and their very, very, VERY bad habits. We'll debate whether the legend has any merit--procreation math included!--and talk about cave decor, the Ye Olde Timey Tabloid, and Kristy's new name for her bathroom...inspired by none other than Henry VIII.
And while we're at it, Scott does not check Kristy's menarche numbers, and Kristy isn't eating smoothies, bacon, or beans anytime soon. Remember....IT'S NEVER OVER.

Warning: The content in this episode gets a little more graphic than our usual fare. Listener discretion is advised.
In our very first "Deep Dive," we return to the Severin' Reverend with a look at the true crime book Killer Priest: The Crimes, Trial, and Execution of Father Hans Schmidt by Mark Gado. We'll learn more about Schmidt's childhood (including EVEN MORE disturbing interactions with backyard fowl), the strange behavior that earned him the nickname "The Crazy Priest," the murder of Anna Aumuller, and some jailhouse details.
PLUS: We discuss whether Schmidt was "full Rasputing it," you'll get your OTC child-rearing tip of the week, and we talk about what we'd have for a last meal.
Tell us what you'd choose for your last meal in a 5-star review on iTunes. Don't forget to follow us here on Podbean, Stitcher, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts, and hit us up on our FB group or Twitter. Thanks for listening!

Old Timey Crimey #16: Henri Désiré Landru and the Frontiers of Madness
Friday Jul 05, 2019
Friday Jul 05, 2019
Kristy's back from France just in time to talk about a prolific French killer, Henri Désiré Landru, a reverse black widow who preyed upon the vulnerable. When the police declined to notice a plethora of missing women, the intrepid half-sister of one of his victims ensured that Landru came to justice.
We also have Venn diagrams of serial killers and model husbands, as well as some sage advice: never let anyone buy you a one-way train ticket.
Today's episode brought to you by our hero, Marie Lacoste.
